Job Description
We are seeking a driven and process-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will round out our internal accounting capabilities and financial controls, and reports to the Accounting Team Manager.
Responsibilities
- Support Month-end close procedures including preparation of journal entries, recording of month end accruals, maintaining account reconciliations, and variance and trend analysis
- Analyzing financial information to validate statements are complete and accurate.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Assist with Tax audits and tax returns.
- Assist with the annual audit.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Liaise with our finance team on budget to actual analysis.
- Perform ad hoc research and prepare reports as requested by management
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting or related field
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with General Ledger functions and the month end/year end close process
- Detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels both within and outside the company
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Good excel Skills
- CPA preferred but not required
