Kane County Cougars are looking for Bartenders to join our team! The Bartender provides exceptional guest experience by offering friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service in a fast-paced alcohol portable/station. This role involves greeting guests, guiding them through the beer menu, serving beverages with precision, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. The bartender is responsible for monitoring alcohol consumption responsibly, handling cash and POS transactions accurately, and supporting team members during busy service hours. A passion for craft beer, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to lift and stand for extended periods are also required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Greet guests with enthusiasm and provide excellent customer service.
Guide guests through the beer menu, offering samples and recommendations.
Accurately pour and serve beer, maintaining appropriate presentation and portion standards.
Maintain a clean and organized alcohol portable/station.
Monitor customer alcohol consumption and adhere to all responsible serving guidelines.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service during high-volume hours.
Handle transactions via POS system and manage tabs accurately.
Assist with events, tastings, and beer releases as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
21 years of age
Previous bartending or serving experience preferred (especially in beer-centric environments)
Passion for craft beer with a desire to learn more (Cicerone certification is a plus!)
Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for the entire length of shift.
Frequent standing, bending, stooping, carrying, walking, sitting, and reaching.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
