Production Section Leader

Production Section Leader Rev-A-Shelf - Louisville, KY From $20 an hour 1st Shift 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Position Summary: To coordinate, control and facilitate all aspects of quality, productivity, accuracy, sense of urgency, organization within the given work cells. Position responsibilities: Perform “On the Job” training for all new employees within the section. Perform start-up activities, quality inspections, and verification of products being produced. Ensure product within your responsibility is identified and labeled properly. Approving or rejecting product based upon established samples or written guidelines. Regular product audits to be performed to verify product conformity. QC Releases are to be performed on product prior to release to the warehouse. Maintain accurate data entry functions for all products being produced within your area of responsibility. Record and maintain all necessary documentation as it applies to dispositioning non-standard products and all related inventory control procedures. Direct, develop and improve the employees within your area of responsibility. Provide printed work orders to Production in order of production needs / priority. Process production / product as it is completed. Work orders used to accurately account for materials and labor used in the production of the parts. Help resolve processing problems with the production work tickets. Ensure that all products leaving the Work Centers returning to the warehouse are properly labeled, sealed, and marked as partials if necessary. Maintain a neat and orderly work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential skills and experience: High school diploma or equivalent Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic computer skills, including general familiarity of computer systems/typing. Ability to assign people tasks based upon given direction and/or schedules Ability to motivate others to achieve established goals. Preferred skills and experience: 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing and quality Reporting to this position: Assemblers, Warehouse Drivers, Group Leaders Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; talk or hear; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone; reach with arms and hands; and stoop. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading. Moderate lifting up to 20 lbs is required. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
