What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bechman position at Reuther Mold and Manufacturing?
Summary
We are looking for a Benchman to polish and assemble individual molds at the lowest cost possible while meeting Company’s quality and delivery expectations and requirements for each customer.

Standard Duties for All Reuther Employees:
- Abide by and conform to all Company rules and policies.
- Abide by and conform to all Company safety practices and policies; report unsafe conditions to supervisor and/or maintenance ASAP.
- Comply with the Company Quality Management System.
- Perform other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Primary Duties:
- Read and complete job router, when applicable.
- Read and follow SOP/QWI for each job.
- Read and complete checklists for each job.
- Maintain workstation in a neat, clean, and safe manner.
- Produce quality work pursuant to customer and written specifications within estimated/quoted hours.
- Perform routine maintenance on assigned machines and report any mechanical or electrical problems to supervisor on a timely basis.
- Use cranes and lift trucks to lift and move heavy loads.
- Manually lift and move components within physical limitations. Always use proper lifting techniques: use legs, and not back, keeping all hands not higher than the waist.
Additional Duties:
- Read and interpret mold and product drawings.
- Polish and fit together mold component parts per requirements.
- Know the materials used for different mold components.
- Select appropriate cutting materials and abrasives for each job.
- Manage proper use of handheld air tools to assist with fitting, polishing, and assembly.
- Know appropriate fit requirements for particular molds and specific customers.
- Discuss fit issues, especially regarding sharp corners, with supervisor.
- Know finishing requirements and any relevant deviations from blueprints for specific molds.
- Check finishes, making sure that Company processes are necessary and successful in achieving desired outcomes.
- Gather all components together before starting assembly, ensuring that all required components are on hand. Inform supervisor of which components are present and which components are missing before proceeding with assembly.
- Provide recommendations to supervisor regarding where Company can reduce the work to be completed.
