Position Summary
The Assistant Server / Dining Room Attendant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to club members and their guests. This position supports the service team by assisting with food delivery, table maintenance, and coordination between the dining room and kitchen. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a food runner or kitchen expediter, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to the high standards of service expected in a private club environment.
- Assist servers in providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to members and guests throughout their dining experience.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring accuracy, presentation, and service standards are consistently met.
- Clear and reset tables quickly and neatly to maintain an inviting dining atmosphere.
- Refill beverages, reset silverware, and anticipate member and guest needs proactively.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining room, side stations, and service areas at all times.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders.
- Serve as a communication link between front-of-house and back-of-house to uphold service timing and quality.
- Verify food presentation, temperature, and completeness before delivery to tables.
- Support the kitchen in managing ticket flow, prioritizing orders, and ensuring smooth service pacing.
- Communicate any special requests, dietary needs, or modifications clearly to the kitchen and service staff.
- Support servers and bartenders during peak service periods and special events.
- Assist with restocking, polishing glassware and silverware, and maintaining par levels of service items.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings to review daily features, event details, and service priorities.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and policies to maintain a clean and professional work environment.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance, ensuring the assigned uniform and nametag are worn at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Attend all required meetings and trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to meet business needs.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in upscale dining, private club, or resort setting preferred.
• Background as a food runner or kitchen expediter highly desirable.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional appearance and a genuine desire to provide excellent service.
• Ability to lift and carry trays up to 25 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
