We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to support the configuration and operational health of satellite and ground systems within a large-scale space infrastructure environment. This role focuses on developing and enhancing software that validates configuration changes, improves system availability, and automates operational processes to reduce manual intervention across a fleet of 400 satellites.

This role focuses on developing and enhancing software that validates configuration changes, improves system availability, and automates operational processes to reduce manual intervention across a fleet of 400 satellites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop software to support configuration management for satellite and ground antenna systems.
- Build automation that validates configuration changes to ensure they are safe, reliable, and production-ready.
- Design and implement solutions that improve system availability and reduce operational overhead.
- Develop and integrate APIs and backend services to support telemetry, configuration, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software.
- Leverage GenAI tools to improve development efficiency and operational processes.
- 5 years of software development experience working on highly distributed "always-on” systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming. Will also be open to Python and/or Go Engineers.
- Experience building APIs and backend services.
- Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with software automation and distributed systems.
- AWS experience is preferred w/ CDK (Cloud- Development Kit)
- Experience with Python and/or Go.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and automation within large-scale production environments.
