Sr. Staff Accountant

Position Summary

ReturnPro is seeking a highly capable accounting and finance professional to own financial accuracy, reporting integrity, and analytical insight across a fast-growing, complex organization. This role blends technical accounting execution with financial analysis and process improvement, supporting leadership decision-making and scalable operations.

This position is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable closing the books, building Excel-based analysis, and identifying ways to improve how financial work gets done. Success in this role requires strong ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while partnering cross-functionally.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage vendor and service reconciliations and execute monthly client invoicing
• Perform monthly accruals and support timely, accurate month-end close
• Maintain sales and service reporting to ensure accurate billing and proper revenue recognition
• Execute day-to-day revenue and accounts receivable activities
• Support customer audit requests with clear documentation and data validation
• Produce financial and operational analysis to support Accounting leadership and FP&A
• Perform cost allocations and cost-reduction analyses to identify efficiency opportunities
• Support strategic planning, annual budgeting, and financial forecasting processes
• Develop and maintain process documentation for compliance, balance sheet tracking, training, and continuity
• Leverage accounting systems and tools to automate reporting and improve consistency
• Support ad-hoc requests from Accounting Management and the Chief Financial Officer
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as the business scales
  
  
  

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate all of the following:

• Strong Accounting and/or Finance Foundation
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial analysis
• Advanced Excel & Technical Reporting Skills
• High proficiency in Excel (complex formulas, pivots, reconciliations, data analysis)
• Ability to build and maintain structured, repeatable financial reports
• Month-End Close & Financial Accuracy Ownership
• Hands-on experience owning accruals, reconciliations, and close timelines
• Strong commitment to accuracy, controls, and documentation
• Financial Analysis & Process Improvement Mindset
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into recommendations
• Demonstrated interest in improving processes, not just maintaining them
• Independent Work Style with Strong Attention to Detail & Communication
• Proven ability to manage work independently and prioritize competing deadlines
