Working closely with surveyors, engineers, and project managers, you’ll help ensure our clients receive accurate, timely, and well-coordinated designs.

Position Summary / What You’ll Do
As a Senior Designer 2, you will play a key role in producing high-quality CAD drawings, plans, and survey deliverables that support land development, infrastructure, and construction projects. Working closely with surveyors, engineers, and project managers, you’ll help ensure our clients receive accurate, timely, and well-coordinated designs.
Responsibilities / Day-to-Day
- Prepare detailed survey drawings and mapping deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.
- Collaborate with survey crews, project managers, and engineers to translate field data into design documents.
- Develop base maps, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and topographic surveys.
- Maintain CAD standards and quality control for deliverables.
- Support project schedules by managing drafting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced CAD staff.
- Coordinate with internal teams across offices to share expertise and resources.
Required
- Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, drafting, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in survey drafting and design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Proficiency with Trimble Business Center.
- Proficient in processing, sampling, and extracting data from terrestrial and LiDAR-based point cloud datasets.
- Strong understanding of survey principles and terminology.
- Ability to interpret field notes, deed descriptions, and engineering plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Background in land development or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of GIS applications.
- Previous mentorship or training experience with junior CAD staff.
- Project research skills and competence in reading and understanding:
Roadway right-of-way documentation and plans
Deeds and/or subdivision plans
- Familiarity with Autodesk ReCAP
