Position Summary

Tool Installation and Qualification Technicians provide logistical and technical support for the installation of third-party OEM equipment on the customer campus. When installations are scheduled, parts and equipment are delivered, received and stored correctly for installation. Technicians coordinate trade, vendor and factory activity against the project schedule, verify tool and facility readiness, and keep the installation moving to plan.

We are hiring at both Level 2 and Level 3. Level 2 technicians drive the install milestones that carry a tool from dock to qualification. Level 3 technicians own commissioning, multi-vendor troubleshooting and the schedule through tool turnover. Apply once — we will match you to the level that fits your experience. The Core sections below apply to every technician in the role; the Level 3 Uplift sections show the added scope, and the progression we will back you to reach.

Job DutiesCore Duties — All Levels

  • Receive and review the design plan, project micro schedule and tool-specific installation drawings
  • Schedule tool milestones in the customer system, and schedule and verify trade, vendor and factory level activities
  • Order, return and track parts for the toolset; receive, stage and correctly store equipment for scheduled installations, and support dock work for tool move-in and move-out
  • Request, renew and audit laydown space, and keep laydown areas organized by toolset or functional area
  • Perform daily field walks of the project area, and line walks confirming connection and disconnection of tool lines against the installation drawings
  • Attend and coordinate tool turn-on and turn-off, leak checks and signal tests between trades and the Construction Coordinator, and report results to the Tool Owner
  • Perform stage readiness walks — verifying required connections, Right-to-Know labeling, tool and area cleanliness and accuracy to the installation drawings — then create and deliver the associated documentation and apply tool labels and bullet-proofing
  • Perform inspection and verification of tools, components, facilities and utilities
  • Maintain spec Read-and-Understood status and all required certifications, and record daily utilization data
  • Report task completion and issue summaries to Tool Owners and Area Coordinators, escalating through the Retronix Shift Lead before client contacts, and report any safety or quality incident immediately to both the Tool Owner and Retronix area management
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

Level 3 Uplift — Additional Duties

In addition to all Core Duties above:

  • Own the install schedule — update it against tool progress, coordinate hand-offs, escalate when it is at risk, and troubleshoot and coordinate solutions on multi-vendor systems between OEMs, vendors and the customer
  • Pre-installation and facilities readiness — dock and stage equipment, abatement and pump racks; coordinate seismic installation and sign-off; set points of connection; coordinate rigging and vendor cable pulls; mount heat trace controllers
  • Tool commissioning — leak checks, pump commissioning, utility turn-on and balance, gas detection and life safety system setup, and the QA/QC paperwork behind it
  • Final readiness and turnover — final connections and terminations, chiller top-off and balance, gas and abatement commissioning, life safety inspection, and the sign-off paperwork that closes the tool out
  • Own chiller, pump and abatement systems — troubleshoot chiller issues, identify chiller types by equipment ID, manage fluid ordering and refills, own pump and abatement signal testing, and install support hardware
  • Perform inspection and audits of tools, components, facilities and utilities — an audit standard beyond Level 2 verification
  • Issue the daily end-of-shift report to customer stakeholders

RequirementsCore Requirements — All Levels

  • Experience in semiconductor hardware installation and qualification at a minimum of Level 2
