We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Project Accounting Specialist to join our growing team at our Eldersburg, MD office.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project accounting while supporting critical financial operations within the company.
Salary range is from $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 commensurate with experience.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Assist in preparing progress payments using AIA forms and ensuring accuracy in billing.
- Support in tracking and reporting job cost to assess project profitability.
- Help in preparing for audits related to workers’ compensation reports by organizing the required documentation.
- Assist in compiling financial information for project submittals and prequalification packages.
- Prepare and send invoices to clients, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
- Support the preparation of monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reports to track project financial performance.
- Maintain organized financial records for projects and assist with document retrieval when necessary.
- Assist with reconciling project accounts, verifying financial transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
- Work closely with project managers and accounting team to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Help monitor and track subcontractor payments and lien waivers to ensure proper documentation.
- Provide general administrative and financial support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction, environmental remediation, or demolition industry.
- Familiarity with construction accounting principles, including job costing and progress billing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with project managers, estimators, clients, and vendors.
