ABOUT RETRO APE
Retro Ape is a vintage clothing company specializing in vintage apparel, wholesale, and live sales on Whatnot.
We are looking for a reliable, organized, and fast-paced Shipper / Fulfillment Associate to take ownership of our daily order fulfillment and shipping operation.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, works quickly, and understands that getting orders out accurately and on time is extremely important to our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Order Fulfillment
- Pull and fulfill daily Whatnot orders.
- Accurately match items to customer orders.
- Inspect items before packing to ensure the correct item is being shipped.
- Fold and package clothing neatly and securely.
- Package orders according to their size and shipping requirements.
- Print and apply shipping labels accurately.
- Get completed orders out for shipment on schedule.
- Keep the shipping area organized and clean.
Quality Control
- Double-check orders before they are sealed.
- Verify customer, order, item, and shipping information.
- Identify missing, damaged, or incorrect items before they are shipped.
- Communicate any fulfillment issues to management immediately.
- Help prevent incorrect shipments and avoidable customer complaints.
Returns & Customer Issues
- Receive and organize returned packages.
- Inspect returned merchandise.
- Communicate return issues to management.
- Help locate replacement items or missing orders when necessary.
- Keep returns organized and properly documented.
Warehouse SupportWhen daily shipping is caught up, assist with other warehouse tasks as directed by management, including:
- Organizing inventory.
- Moving boxes and merchandise.
- Receiving incoming inventory.
- Breaking down cardboard and maintaining a clean workspace.
- Assisting the production or wholesale team when needed.
- Helping maintain an organized and efficient warehouse.
DAILY EXPECTATIONS
The Shipper is expected to:
- Arrive on time and be ready to work.
- Stay productive throughout the shift.
- Keep orders moving consistently.
- Maintain accuracy while working quickly.
- Keep the shipping station organized.
- Communicate problems instead of allowing them to become larger issues.
- Take ownership of the fulfillment process.
- Make sure orders are not unnecessarily sitting around waiting to be shipped.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success in this position means:
Orders come in → orders are pulled accurately → orders are packed correctly → labels are created → packages leave the warehouse on time.
We want our customers to receive the correct items, packaged properly, with as few shipping issues as possible.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous shipping, warehouse, fulfillment, or e-commerce experience is preferred.
- Experience with Whatnot, Shopify, eBay, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Comfortable standing and moving throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
- Able to lift and move boxes and clothing inventory.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
IMPORTANT
This is a hands-on warehouse position.
The primary responsibility is shipping and fulfillment, but when the shipping workload is caught up, you will be expected to help keep the warehouse productive and organized.
We are looking for someone who doesn’t need to be constantly told what to do and can recognize what needs to be done next.
Reliability, speed, accuracy, and accountability are extremely important for this position.
Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
