The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality menu items in a fast-paced, mid-scale restaurant while maintaining consistency, food safety, and presentation standards. This role includes setting up and stocking workstations, following standardized recipes, operating kitchen equipment safely, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring timely preparation of meals during peak service periods.
The Line Cook works closely with the kitchen team to support efficient operations, monitor ingredient quality, minimize food waste, and comply with all health and sanitation regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, able to multitask under pressure, and committed to delivering an excellent dining experience through quality food preparation.
Compensation:$14 - $16 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Cook food orders at stations by following established recipes and presentation standards for grilling, broiling, and sautéing menu items
- Maintain work stations, including all countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition per health and safety regulations
- Set up cooking stations and fill them with all of the essential preparation items for a shift
Qualifications:
- Prior food service industry experience is highly desired
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification
- Candidates need a strong understanding of compliance with kitchen safety and food storage requirements
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
- Candidates must be hardworking, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic
