Financial Advisor – Retirement Planning

If you’re a motivated financial advisor who wants direct mentorship, deep planning experience, and a structured path for growth, you have found it.

This is not a cold-calling role or "Project 200" position (call friends and family). We provide the leads for you to speak with.

This is a long-term growth opportunity within an established retirement planning firm with strong inbound demand. We have too many prospects and need another advisor.

The Firm

Retirement Wealth Design is a client-first retirement planning firm serving pre-retirees and retirees. We specialize in retirement income planning, tax-efficient strategies, Social Security optimization, investment allocation, and legacy planning.

Our firm generates consistent inbound opportunities through radio, television, workshops, and referrals. All client relationships, leads, and marketing initiatives are developed and owned by the firm, we do not "share" leads with other advisors.

The Role

This is a Financial Advisor growth position designed to develop planning expertise while increasing client-facing responsibility under firm supervision.

Initial On-Boarding: Training, Planning, & Client Exposure

During the initial training period, you will:

  • Work directly with the Lead Advisor in client meetings as a planning and support advisor as you learn the system
  • Prepare and refine comprehensive retirement plans for firm clients, including income, tax, allocation, and legacy strategies - then receive coaching on those plans
  • Model planning scenarios such as Roth conversions, Social Security timing, and withdrawal sequencing with direct feedback from experienced advisor
  • Document meetings, execute follow-ups, and coordinate client service workflows to learn the process
  • Learn and operate the firm’s planning software, CRM, and service standards
  • Assist with inbound prospect follow-up from firm marketing channels (radio, television, and workshops)

Focus: Build technical mastery, planning fluency, and consistency using the firm's systems and processes.

After On-Boarded: Expanded Client Responsibility & Production

As proficiency increases, you will:

  • Continue advanced planning support (for training purposes) while leading prospect meetings
  • Serve as the primary advisor for assigned firm leads/prospects, under ongoing mentorship
  • Conduct firm-approved retirement workshops and educational seminars
  • Work inbound leads generated by firm marketing initiatives
  • Participate in onboarding and servicing firm clients introduced through marketing and referrals
  • Earn performance-based compensation tied to firm clients you develop

Focus: Increase advisor responsibility while maintaining firm standards.

Long-Term Path

  • Progression from Financial Advisor to Lead Advisor based on demonstrated skill, service, and production
  • Staff supported administrative processing
  • Expanded revenue participation tied to role level and performance
  • Ongoing mentorship and professional development
  • Firm-supported path toward earning the CFP® designation

Who This Role Is For

This role is best suited for candidates who:

  • Have 2–5 years of experience in financial advising or financial planning
  • Want to build expertise in retirement planning—not transactional sales
  • Value mentorship, process, and professional development
  • Are comfortable communicating with clients and prospects in meetings and educational settings
  • Are coachable, growth-oriented, and interested in long-term career development within one firm
  • Prefer relationship-based advising over cold prospecting

Licensing & Credentials

  • Series 65/66 (or equivalent) required
  • Life & Health license required

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is structured to grow alongside responsibility and performance within the firm. This can grow quickly with performance and progression.

  • Base Salary Revenue participation
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Typical compensation progression:
  • Year 1: $110,000 - $160,000
  • Year 2: $160,000–$220,000
