Job Summary:
A Dietary Aide supports the nutritional care of residents by assisting with meal preparation, service, and sanitation. This role ensures residents receive meals that meet dietary guidelines, physician-ordered restrictions, and individual preferences. The Dietary Aide works closely with the dietary team to maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment while providing courteous and respectful service to residents.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion food items according to standardized recipes and diet orders
- Serve meals and beverages following proper portion control and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and dining areas
- Follow food safety, infection control, and facility policies
- Stock supplies and assist with inventory as directed
- Report any resident concerns or changes in appetite to nursing or dietary staff

Qualifications:
Required:

Food handler’s certification (as required by state regulations)

Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Compassion and patience when working with elderly residents
Preferred:

High school diploma or equivalent
