Summary of Responsibilities
Transport physicians and employees of Retina Consultants from Charleston office to peripheral offices and back. Load and transport office supplies. Performs routine vehicle maintenance and report non-routine problems.
List of Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
- Safely operate a motor vehicle under all driving conditions.
- Understand and obey all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport physicians and employees safely, securely, and as instructed.
- Detects and eliminates or minimizes safety hazards.
- Ensure that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported as necessary, including manufacturer recalls, etc.
- Advise Practice Administrator of any needed service or maintenance.
- Refuel vehicles as needed.
- Maintains the outside and inside of the vehicle in a clean condition: taking it to be washed and cleaning the interior as necessary.
- Contact back up drivers as needed to ensure a driver is available.
- Inform Clinic Manager when changes in the schedule are made.
- Assist in any other duties that may be assigned.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED

Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, and smoke.
- Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average weight objects up to 70 lbs.

Conditions of Employment
- To be in possession of a valid class D license (non CDL for Hire) and make sure that the license is renewed when necessary. (Provide a copy to Administration for personnel file)
- Successful candidates must submit to and pass the post offer, pre-employment physical examination/ medical history check.
- On an annual basis, drivers will be required to pass a physical exam.
- Drivers will be subject to random drug testing
