By maintaining organized and up-to-date patient records, the Medical Receptionist/Patient Registrar supports the clinical team in delivering timely and efficient care. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably in patient registration or front desk operations.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant or similar credential.
- Experience working in Ophthalmology or specialty medical practices.
- Familiarity with insurance verification software and billing procedures.
- Advanced computer skills including scheduling software and data management.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously upon arrival.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary co-payments or fees.
