Medical Biller

Note: this is a full-time, in-person position. There is no remote or hybrid option available.

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Ophthalmic Medical Biller to join our dynamic, retina team in Monroeville, PA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems to facilitate the timely collection of payments from patients and insurance companies.

Duties

• Run insurance eligibility and benefits investigations for medications
• Create and monitor prior authorization for commercial and Medicare Advantage insurances
• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Review patient records for accuracy and completeness in coding.
• Utilize ICD-10 coding systems for accurate billing.
• Follow up on outstanding claims and manage medical collections.
• Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10).
• Experience in medical collections and understanding of insurance processes.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare staff.
• Problem-solving skills to address billing issues efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Ophthalmic medical coding
