Patient Coordinator
The Retina Group of Florida is a multi-physician, multi-office and growing ophthalmology practice specializing in diseases of the retina. We are currently seeking a full-time patient coordinator to join our team in our northern locations in Palm Beach County. The patient coordinator is a vital part of the office team as the first point of contact with the patients. They are responsible for answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments and collecting copays in a professional and friendly manner.
Responsibilities:
- Answer phones timely
- Schedule patient appointments
- Collects co-payments and outstanding balances
- Filing, faxing and other miscellaneous front desk tasks
- Knowledge of multiple insurances, referral and authorization process
- Troubleshoot insurance claims issues
- Develop competency with EMR and practice management system
Required skills and qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility with hours and local area travel
- Computer proficiency for an office nearly 100% electronic (Scanning, uploading, downloading, document transfer)
- Ability to work in multiple software programs/applications
- Exhibit patience and compassion
- Ability to prioritize tasks properly
- Must be able to travel to local offices
- Preferably bilingual Spanish speaking
