Precision Surgery Center has an exceptional full-time opportunity for an experienced Pre/Post Registered Nurse or Circulator Registered Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. Center is open Monday thru Thursday ( 4 10-hour shifts).

Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated surgical team at Precision Surgery Center. As an RN in this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients before and after surgical procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the perioperative process. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients throughout the surgical procedure. Your expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to patient care will contribute significantly to the success of our surgical department.

Responsibilities

• Conducting pre-operative assessments, including reviewing medical histories, medications, and allergies, and addressing any patient concerns.
• Administering medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
• Monitoring patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition during the pre-operative and post-operative phases.
• Preparing patients for surgery, including administering pre-operative medications, and ensuring the surgical site is appropriately marked and verified.
• Assisting with patient positioning and providing emotional support to alleviate anxiety.
• Ensuring a safe and sterile environment in the pre-operative and post-operative areas, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Collaborating with the recovery room staff to ensure a smooth transition from the post-operative phase to the recovery phase.
• Preparing the operating room for surgery and ensuring it is fully equipped with the necessary supplies and equipment.
• Collaborating with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
• Educating patients and their families about the surgical process, post-operative care instructions, and potential risks and complications.
• Administering medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed.
• Verifying patient identification, surgical site, and consent before the start of the procedure.
• Monitoring the patient's vital signs, anesthesia administration, and overall condition during surgery.
• Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and assisting with tasks as required.
• Maintaining a sterile and safe environment in the operating room, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Respond promptly to any changes in patient condition or emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Documenting all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical records system.
• Participating in continuous education and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in surgical techniques and technologies.
• Promoting a culture of patient safety and maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in an acute care or surgical setting.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and other medical software.
• Dedication to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
