Job Description:
Retina Associates, LLC is a sub-specialty ophthalmology practice devoted to diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula in the Greater Kansas City area and surrounding communities. We are currently seeking a Payment Posting Specialist to work in our billing department. This is a Monday-Friday position based out of our Overland Park location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper and timely posting of all forms of payment received and that the totals posted to the practice management system are balanced daily with the totals deposited.
- Identify credits and forward them to the Accounts Receivable representative for research or to the Refund representative with the documentation for said refund. Remove any unnecessary adjustments with the goal of leaving the true overpaid amount on the claim line.
- Notify Copay Assistant of new patients who need to be enrolled.
- Work common denials (CO-109, B9, etc.)
- Ensure that drug is paid correctly.
- Ensure that balances are transferred correctly.
- Notify Accounts Receivable of denials that need attention.
- Utilize all resources for remits when posting issues arise.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education Requirements-
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience Requirements-
- One to three years of experience working in medical collections, billing, and coding.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Experience working in computer programs like excel.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
