Rethreaded is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Survivor Development Team. The Social Worker position at Rethreaded offers a dynamic opportunity to provide comprehensive support to survivors of human trafficking, utilizing a strengths-based perspective and trauma-informed approach. By staying updated on best practices and contributing to strategic planning processes, the Social Worker plays a vital role in fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes healing, resilience, and empowerment for survivors. Strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies are essential in this role.
Rethreaded is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and social enterprise based in Jacksonville, FL dedicated to breaking the cycle of the sex trade with business by offering viable and life-giving work to survivors of human trafficking on a global and local level. Rethreaded designs, manufactures, and sells its own brand of high-quality upcycled consumer products as well as resells like-minded companies' products. In addition to Rethreaded’s current survivor staff, we also support over 4000 Survivors worldwide through our sales efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
● Advocate for and accompany survivor employees to court hearings, transitional living meetings, medical appointments, and other meetings as needed.
● Provide regular direct services to survivors of human trafficking, including comprehensive assessments, crisis intervention, and individualized service plans.
● Utilize solution-focused approaches and empowerment theory to help survivors identify and achieve their goals, fostering a strengths-based perspective in their recovery journey.
● Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Practice, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to address trauma, mental health concerns, and substance use issues.
● Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and data of client interactions, progress notes, and service provision in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
● Grow and cultivate community relationships and resource partnerships to meet survivors’ needs.
● Stay updated on best practices, research findings, and emerging trends in the field of human trafficking and trauma-informed care, participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
● Ensure that all services and interventions are grounded in trauma-informed principles, emphasizing safety, empowerment, trustworthiness, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity.
● Lead engaging and interactive classes in group settings as needed. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
● Assist in coordinating aspects of the hiring cycle for program participants, including application intake, screening, assessment, and selection. Develop and implement efficient procedures to streamline the enrollment process and ensure timely responses to applicants.
● Serve as a point of contact for prospective participants, crisis calls, and community members, responding to inquiries, providing information about the program, and offering support and guidance throughout the communication process. Communicate program policies, procedures, and expectations clearly and effectively.
● Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess, enhance, and innovate programmatic services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and addressing the evolving needs of survivors.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
● Full Time, approximately 40 hours per week
● Preference will be given to applicants that identify as a survivor of human trafficking
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
● Able to read, hand-write, and type in English
● Able to hear and understand, and clearly speak English in person and/or over the phone
● Able to sit or stand for up to 6 hours at a time
● Able to safely drive night and day, and in any weather condition, and has a driver’s license in good standing.
● Must be legally able to access jail, court, schools, etc.
