Role Description
We are seeking a Technical Writer for a full-time hybrid role based in Buffalo, NY, with partial work-from-home flexibility. This position will involve creating, revising, and maintaining technical documents such as user manuals, operation manuals, and maintenance guides. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include ensuring documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
Job Duties:
/ Collaborating with project teams to author work orders, technical specifications, acceptance criteria, process flow charts, and other technical documentation for projects.
/ Collaborating with engineering and procurement in writing vendor specifications for projects in the design phase.
/ Maintaining a standardized instruction manual layout for future projects.
/ Reviewing and maintaining a database of project go-bys for future reference.
/ Responding to customer questions regarding contents of instruction manual.
/ Obtaining and documenting project close out items including final sign off, red lines, VCL, manuals, etc.
/ Assisting in the development of SOP, work instructions, training documents, test procedures, and digitization of documents.
/ Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
/ Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, or related field; or 5 years of experience in supporting engineered equipment.
/ 2 – 5 years of experience in technical writing and documentation.
