Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Edge Bander Operator to join our second-shift production team. In this role, you will operate edge banding machinery to apply edging materials to panels and components, ensuring high-quality finishes for our commercial millwork products. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy and safety are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain edge banding machines (e.g., Homag, Brandt, or similar) to apply edge banding to wood panels, doors, and other millwork components.
- Inspect materials for defects and ensure proper alignment, adhesion, and finish quality.
- Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Follow production schedules and quality control standards to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members on the production floor to optimize workflow.
- Assist with other millwork tasks as needed, such as material handling or assembly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1-2 years of experience operating edge banding machinery in a millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking environment (preferred).
- Familiarity with woodworking tools, materials, and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read blueprints or production specs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work second shift.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
