Warehouse / Showroom Assistant (Part-Time)
Lighting Gallery – Huntington Station, NY
Pay: $18–$22 per hour
Schedule: Approximately 10–15 hours per week
Lighting Gallery is a family-owned lighting showroom looking for a dependable, detail-oriented and mechanically inclined person to assist with warehouse and showroom operations.
This is a hands-on position in a small business. At the beginning of each shift, you’ll typically be given a list of projects and responsibilities to work through independently. We need someone who can prioritize their work, stay on task, solve basic problems on their own, and take pride in completing things carefully and correctly.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and organize incoming merchandise
- Pull and prepare customer orders accurately
- Pack products carefully for shipping
- Maintain organized warehouse inventory
- Assemble lighting fixtures and showroom displays
- Unbox and inspect merchandise for damage, missing parts or defects
- Perform basic repairs and adjustments to displays and fixtures
- Use basic hand and power tools
- Move, hang and reposition showroom displays
- Keep warehouse, work areas and showroom organized
- Work through assigned daily tasks and projects independently
- Assist with general building and showroom projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools
- Careful and detail-oriented — notices damage, missing parts and things that don't look right
- Comfortable receiving a task list and working through it independently
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time without constant supervision
- Takes initiative and moves on to the next task without needing to be directed
- Able to solve basic problems independently and knows when to ask a question
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to follow instructions and complete a job correctly the first time
- Organized and able to keep track of merchandise and parts
- Comfortable with physical work, ladders and lifting merchandise
- Takes ownership of tasks and follows through
- Positive, professional attitude
Experience with lighting, electrical work, construction, maintenance, furniture assembly, automotive work or other hands-on trades is a plus, but not required.
Schedule & Pay
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week
- $18–$22 per hour depending on experience and mechanical ability
- Part-time, in-person position
