About the Role Total Wine & More is seeking Principal POS Engineer, to join our Store Systems team. May telecommute but reports to our Bethesda, MD location. This role is responsible for key initiatives related to our Point-of-Sale environment (POS and related applications) as well Payment and Fraud Prevention Systems. This role reports to the Director, POS Programs & Operations. You will Participate in design and architecture decisions of POS Systems, new enhancements/ projects, and integrations. Build dashboards and setup monitoring tools to monitor and report on health and performance of POS systems. Analyze current processes and ID opportunities for improvement and automation. SME on technical and knowledge and train other team members. Participate and provide inputs into building operations roadmap and lead implementation of roadmap. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis and identify opportunities to prevent service interruption. Engage the appropriate IT teams and third-party vendors during service interruption issues to ensure quick resolution. Lead important incident troubleshooting efforts of teams and 3rd-party vendors to solve service interruption. Support business customers requiring technical assistance using troubleshooting and analysis skills. Evaluate and deploy config changes, patches, and releases. You will come with Bachelor’s Degree in Comp Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Mathematics, or related field and 10 years related experience implementing and supporting POS and store systems. OR Master’s in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Mathematics, or related field and 6 years related experience implementing and supporting POS and store systems. 6 years experience in: POS ecosystem (Hardware & Software Stack, Development, Testing, and Support), Micros Retail / Oracle applications (xStore, xUnit, xEnvironment, and xCenter), PCI and PII data, including payment processing environments, POS and related integrations architectures and designs, Relational database, SQL, and scripting languages (Windows PowerShell), Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of enterprise-wide systems, and 3rd-party integrated software tools (Jira, MS Teams, Splunk), Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
