Duties
- Stock shelves efficiently by receiving deliveries, organizing products, and maintaining attractive displays through merchandising techniques
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions, handle cash and card payments, and issue receipts
- Assist customers with product questions, product demos, and upselling to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas while practicing professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
- Support inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and replenishing items as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, guiding shoppers through store aisles, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members during shifts to ensure smooth store operations and excellent customer interactions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and POS operations
- Demonstrated ability to perform stocking duties efficiently and accurately
- Experience with cashiering systems (POS) and cash handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Supervising experience is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued for growth opportunities
