The Cemetery Foreman plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises all field operations at the assigned cemetery for The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Washington, Inc. This role leads operational employees, supports training, operates cemetery equipment as needed, and maintains accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise operational field employees and cemetery activities.
- Train operational field employees on procedures, equipment, and field operations.
- Operate hand tools, small machines, trucks, tractors, backhoes, and other equipment as needed.
- Maintain required operational records.
- Coordinate field operations within the assigned cemetery.
- Work flexible hours Monday through Saturday and in adverse outdoor weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of five years of cemetery field operations experience.
- Demonstrated supervisory ability.
- Working knowledge of equipment used in cemetery operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift and carry 80 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to operate hand tools, small machines, heavy equipment, trucks, tractors, and backhoes.
- Ability to hear conversational voices with or without hearing aid assistance.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours Monday through Saturday.

- Mechanical ability.
