Position Summary

Are you interested in joining a dynamic, and growing global health organization? Are you yearning to launch your global health career? Or are you looking to restart a career? ReSurge International is seeking a motivated professional to serve as the logistical backbone of ReSurge’s domestic and international Programs team. In this role, you will manage the intricate moving parts of medical volunteer trips, international meetings and educational lectures. Your organizational and logistics assistance will directly enable surgical teams to provide life-changing care across 19 countries where we are expanding reconstructive surgical care to those in the greatest need.


This position will report to the Senior Senior Director of Global Programs & Learning, and you will work hand-in-hand with the entire Programs team to plan and implement surgical team training trips, as well as performing other functions described below. This position also includes some in-office administrative support. There may be an opportunity for international travel.


ReSurge seeks an individual who is a proactive problem-solver, with a strong work ethic, who is flexible, has a good sense of humor, enjoys interaction with colleagues, and enjoys working independently as well as collaboratively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. You must be extremely detail-oriented. Ideal candidates will have a passion for international development or global health, and ideally experience traveling to developing countries (or at minimum an interest in doing so).


Key Responsibilities 

Medical Volunteer Trips & International Logistics

  • Communicate with international partners regarding on-site logistics for all traveling teams
  • Liaise with medical volunteers, international medical partners, and the ReSurge travel agent to book and secure flights; directly book hotels as neededCoordinate with medical volunteers and foreign consulates to obtain appropriate visas
  • Build and maintain comprehensive trip logistics documentation and logistic guides for traveling teams
  • Assist with preparation and submission of customs documentation for medical supplies entering and exiting each country
  • Register teams with in-country embassies prior to each trip and submit medical credentials to international partners
  • Schedule and facilitate pre-trip and post-trip Zoom meetings

Program Data, Reporting & Impact Tracking

  • Compile, track, and evaluate metrics related to trip impact and the value of donated medical services
  • Capture feedback from team trip reports to improve future programming
  • Maintain and update trip site documentation and historical records

Meeting & Committee Support

  • Assist with scheduling and note-taking for the bi-annual Medical Committee meetings
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for internal and external program-related meetings

Education & Digital Content Support

  • Arrange, coordinate and schedule online lectures for global surgical education
  • Upload and manage recorded educational content on the ReSurge website or United Nations SurgHub website, as appropriate 

Financial & Administrative Operations

  • Process check requests, reimbursements, and expense reports across multiple currencies
  • Assist with overall Programs team organization and online filing systems in our shared drive, Egnyte
  • Provide general administrative support across the ReSurge office as needed


Required Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. degree or at least 2 years of administrative and/or project management experience
  • Exceptionally organized with the project management rigor to oversee complex timelines and deliver results
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with high-level medical professionals
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite and Email, and the ability to quickly master new cloud-based platforms and LMS tools
  • Thrives as a positive team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Cultural competency and intercultural communication skills–a respect and curiosity for other world-views
  • Strong passion and commitment to global health equity and the mission of ReSurge
  • Language skills in any of our ReSurge countries is a plus, but not required 


Work Location

This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area in Sunnyvale, California. This position is hybrid remote and in-office, with the expectation of three days in the office each week. You will be working 40 hours per week, however this position requires flexibility as you will be involved with some early morning meetings, as you will be consistently working across global time zones. Evening or weekend hours may be required for events.

Compensation

Commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus excellent health and welfare benefits, 403b retirement plan, a flexible work schedule, and generous paid time off.


Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000.
