Why this role actually matters

This isn't a back-office, behind-the-scenes job. The person in this seat directly protects the company's cash flow. They're the one deciding whether a customer gets to keep moving freight with the company or needs to settle up first. That's real authority and real trust for an entry-level seat.

What the day-to-day actually looks like

You're not just chasing down overdue invoices. You're evaluating credit risk on accounts, which means you're making judgment calls that affect the business. You're talking to customers, sometimes having the tough conversation that nobody wants to have, but you're also the one who resolves billing confusion and keeps relationships intact. It's part detective work, part diplomacy, part numbers.

Door into a bigger industry

This is genuinely a way in. Logistics and transportation touch everything, oil and gas, retail, manufacturing, you name it. Someone who does well here has a real path forward into account management, credit, or operations down the line. It's a foot in the door to an industry that isn't going anywhere.

Stability & Culture

This company has been around a long time, and people don't leave. Low turnover, long-standing customer relationships, a genuinely supportive, family-feel environment. That's worth something, especially right now when a lot of companies feel unstable.

Exciting New Technology

There's also a new system rolling out company-wide in mid-August, so whoever steps into this role gets to be trained and set up fresh on it, not stuck learning someone else's old habits.

Benefits

Most entry-level roles at this pay point don't come with an Employee Stock Ownership Plan or tuition reimbursement. Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401k match are table stakes, but the ESOP and tuition piece are the things worth pausing on. That's the company investing in people long term, not just filling a seat.
