JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Clinical Director/Administrator, to plan, organize and direct the in-patient nursing services of Restpadd PHF; to coordinate and integrate the activities of the nursing service with other Facility Departments and organized Clinical Staff; and to perform related work as required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participates with the Clinical Director and other management staff in planning and implementing the nursing services program, responsible for nursing staff education and in-service training, attending administrative and treatment team meetings; participates in the interviewing, hiring, scheduling of nursing staff, evaluation of nursing staff performance; plans, trains and supervised the activities of nursing personnel; covers the floor in emergency situations; review of all incident reports/unusual occurrence, seclusion and restraint investigation to ensure compliance with WIC regulations; interprets program and policies to staff and community groups; assists in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating nursing policies and procedures with respect to specialized psychiatric treatment; assists in the development of the budget for nursing services; assists with

QA/PI/IP/RM data collection and analysis; serves on committees; ensures that all required statistical information is complete and accurate; submits regular reports as required; monitors/supervises processes and procedure related to medication management and compliance with industry regulations and other such duties as required by the Administrator, CEO, and Medical Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Plan, organize and direct a broad range of nursing services
  • Develop, interpret and evaluate the nursing service program
  • Supervise and train nursing staff
  • Implement policy decisions and practices
  • Participate effectively in budget analysis, development and fiscal control
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other Facility staff
  • Coordinate Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, Risk Management and Infection Prevention Services at the facility.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports
  • Provide skilled mental health nursing case
  • Professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients.
  • Social, psychological, and physical factors of mental and emotional disorders.
  • Medical and psychological terminology. Medications, including psychotropic drugs, and effects on psychiatric patients.
  • Control, preparation and administration of medications.
  • State of California laws and regulations for the nursing profession.
  • Regulations pertaining to psychiatric nursing and the treatment of the mentally and emotionally disturbed patients.
  • Theories, principles, and techniques of group and individual psychotherapy.
  • Basic computer programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to be highly efficient, organized and accurate in work
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgement and decision-making skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of CA
  • Possession of an appropriate California Driver license

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in psychiatric nursing or related field with experience in administration; or
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field with experience in psychiatric nursing and two years of experience in nursing administration; or
  • Four years of experience in nursing administration or supervision and with experience in psychiatric nursing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Nursing: 4 years (Preferred)
