After School High Impact Tutor

Restored For More, in partnership with Turn the Page STL is looking for experienced early literacy tutors to provide one-on-one and small group literacy tutoring for 6 hours a week for students, K-3rd grade, enrolled in a local after school program.

About Restored For More: Restored For More exists to empower students from at risk communities through tutoring and mentoring. We recruit, train, send, and resource tutors and mentors to local schools and non-profit organizations in St. Louis City and County.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Complete a background check through MACHS ($39 cost-reimbursed upon submission of receipt)
• At least 6 months of experience working with students from at-risk communities
• Available the entire duration of the school year
• Have knowledge/prior experience of basic literacy (phonics, reading comprehension, etc.)
• Teachable and able to receive feedback and coaching
• Friendly, outgoing, and a positive attitude

About the Role:

Complete 5 hours of Training (not included in compensation)

• Participate in a 2 hour virtual training on Trauma Awareness- Wednesday, October 6
• Participate in a 2 hour in person training on Ufli Foundations, Planning Tutoring Sessions, and Assessing Students- Date TBD (Late September)
• Complete 1 hour of asynchronous literacy training

Tutoring - 4 Hours a Week for 10 weeks in Fall (October 5th-December 12th) and 16 weeks in Spring (January 11th- May 7th)

• Implement 30 minutes of individualized instruction per student/small group per day
• Keep record of student progress and growth

*Tutors are provided curriculum and resources (including tablets with leveled books) to use along with live coaching during the 1st two weeks of tutoring and one additional time throughout the summer.

Total Compensation for Tutoring Hours: $4,160 (Paid bi weekly)- $40/hour

Pay: $40.00 per hour
