About the Position
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Surgical Tech to join our plastic surgery practice. This position is ideal for a skilled professional who enjoys working in a patient-focused, team-oriented environment while assisting with cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures.
You will play an essential role in ensuring the operating room is prepared, maintaining sterile technique, assisting the surgeon during procedures, and providing exceptional support to both the surgical team and our patients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment.
- Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for each procedure.
- Assist the plastic surgeon during cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout procedures.
- Ensure all instruments and supplies are accounted for before, during, and after surgery.
- Clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation in accordance with safety protocols.
- Turn the OR over between procedures
- Adhere to OSHA, infection control, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current Surgical Technologist certification/license (CST) required
- Previous operating room experience required; plastic surgery or outpatient surgery experience.
- Training in suture closing techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Current BLS certification preferred.
