Job Overview:
As a member of the Reentry team, the BSCC Rental Assistance Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting successful reentry for parolees by providing comprehensive housing assistance and wraparound services. This position focuses on immediate post-release support, helping individuals secure stable housing while addressing barriers to successful community reintegration through case management and supportive services. This position will be filled contingent upon a criminal background clearance, possession of a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and educational transcripts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Immediate Post-Release Support & Intake
- Conduct initial intake assessments for all parolees entering into the program
- Determine program eligibility based on BSCC guidelines and funding requirements
- Develop individualized service plans addressing immediate housing and support needs
- Coordinate with parole agents during transition process
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency support as needed in housing placement
Housing Services
- Conduct comprehensive housing searches using available rental market resources
- Assess housing options for appropriateness, safety, and compliance with parole requirements
- Facilitate housing placements and coordinate move-in processes
- Engage with landlords, property managers, and housing providers to secure rental opportunities
- Negotiate rental agreements and advocate for participants with housing providers
- Administer rental subsidies and coordinate payment processing
- Monitor housing stability and address tenancy issues as they arise
Case Management
- Maintain ongoing case management relationships with assigned parolees
- Refer to CalAIM Enhanced Care Management
- Conduct regular check-ins and home visits to assess progress and needs
- Connect participants to other wraparound services as needed
- Provide referrals to community resources and support services
- Assist with financial literacy education and credit repair initiatives
- Document participant progress and maintain accurate case files
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including parole officers, social workers, and service providers
Administrative Duties
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with BSCC reporting requirements
- Prepare regular reports on participant outcomes and program metrics
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and funding guidelines
- Assist with program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements
- Current driver's license, valid auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, as verified by law enforcement administration or other designated agency
- Provide educational transcript
- Bachelor's degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in landlord relations (preferred)
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and database management systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Comfort working with diverse populations and in various neighborhood environments
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Fluency in English (bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable)
