Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Clinical Therapist (PhD, PsyD, LCSW or LMFT) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, culturally responsive therapeutic services to approximately 25–30 clients per week, including individuals, couples, and families. The therapist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, providing ongoing counseling, completing timely and accurate documentation, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary clinical team to improve client outcomes. This position requires a strong understanding of community mental health, experience working with underserved and historically marginalized populations, proficiency in evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic approaches, and a demonstrated commitment to client-centered, equity-focused care in alignment with restorative justice values.

The ideal candidate will also have experience providing clinical supervision and support to unlicensed staff and trainees. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice (80%) and Supervision (10%)

• Provide Individual, Group, and Family Therapy: Conduct assessments and provide therapeutic services to clients in accordance with established treatment plans and goals.
• Treatment Planning: Develop, implement, and revise treatment plans based on clients' needs, preferences, and progress.
• Case Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client sessions, progress notes, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with agency policies, HIPAA regulations, and ethical standards.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with the clinical team (including psychiatrists, case managers, and other therapists) to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to client treatment.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and management as necessary, including risk assessment and safety planning.
• Client Education: Educate clients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and resources in the community.
• Supervision: Provide reflective and culturally responsive clinical supervision and guidance to associate-level clinicians (ASW/AMFT or doctoral trainees), case managers, and staff as needed.

Staff Development and Leadership (5%)

• Continual Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest research, treatment modalities, and clinical best practices through ongoing education and training.
• Equity Model: Foster a supportive team culture grounded in equity, accountability, and shared learning.
• Staff Development: Facilitate staff training, reflective case consultations, and team meetings that integrate social justice and healing-centered values.
• Leadership: Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of clinical staff.

Compliance and Reporting (5%)

• Professional Responsibility: Ensure adherence to agency policies, HIPAA, ethical guidelines, and contractual obligations.
• Reporting: Participate in audits, grant reporting, and accreditation preparation as needed.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Must hold a current and valid license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or licensed PsyD or Clinical Psychologist at the PhD level in the state of California.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience providing therapy in a mental health setting, including family, individual and group therapy.
• Skills:
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Expertise in evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or trauma-focused therapy.
• Ability to develop individualized treatment plans and goals.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in mental health care.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with children, adults, couples, and families.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and humility in working with ethnically and socially diverse populations.
• Demonstrated commitment to restorative justice principles and healing centered clinical work.
• Preferred:
• Previous experience in a community outpatient mental health setting.
• Familiarity with integrated care models and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience in specialized therapeutic modalities (e.g., trauma, grief, substance use, etc.).
• Bilingual Spanish therapists are encouraged to apply.

Working Conditions:

• Work Hours: Mon-Fri, flexible schedule dependent on client needs. Staff meetings on Thursday are mandatory.
• On-Call: Availability is required on selected days.
• Location: In-person.
