About Restoration Recovery
Restoration Recovery is a community-based Peer Recovery Center committed to supporting individuals impacted by substance use, homelessness, justice involvement, and mental health challenges. Our Peer Recovery Center is a welcoming, non-clinical space focused on connection, empowerment, harm reduction, and long-term recovery support.
Position Summary
The Recovery Coach provides peer-based, non-clinical support to individuals seeking or maintaining recovery from substance use and related life challenges. This role centers lived experience, mutual support, and relationship-building while helping participants access resources, set goals, and strengthen recovery capital.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one peer recovery coaching and support
- Facilitate or co-facilitate peer support groups and recovery-oriented activities
- Engage participants in a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive manner
- Support participants with goal setting, recovery planning, and system navigation
- Provide referrals and warm hand-offs to community resources (housing, treatment, employment, benefits, etc.)
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely
- Maintain appropriate boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Collaborate with Peer Recovery Center staff and community partners
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings
Qualifications
- Lived experience with substance use recovery (required)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills
- Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to peer values, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented systems of care
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Basic computer and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Recovery Coach / Peer Recovery Support Specialist (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Experience working in peer recovery centers, substance use services, or community-based settings
- Knowledge of local community resources
- Bilingual a plus
