Resource Family Advocate (RFA)

As a Resource Family Advocate (RFA), you will walk alongside licensed foster families, providing support, encouragement, and practical guidance as they care for children in their homes.

What You’ll Do
- Support licensed foster families through regular home visits, coaching, and crisis response
- Attend case plan meetings, court hearings, school conferences, and other child‑related appointments
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency and DCF requirements
- Collaborate with recruitment, licensing, and training teams to ensure smooth transitions for new foster homes
- Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed
- Conduct file audits to ensure compliance with DCF regulations
- Demonstrate exceptional customer care, cultural sensitivity, and professionalism
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families, staff, and community partners
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development
- Support special projects and agency initiatives throughout the year
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field
- Experience in child and family services preferred
- Strong skills in crisis management, communication, critical thinking, and problem solving
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to learn agency software and databases
- A heart for service, a team‑oriented mindset, and a commitment to our mission
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Ability to travel, including driving at night
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs
- Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
- Successful completion of background checks and health assessments
