Phlebotomist

Restoration Clinic is seeking a compassionate, dependable phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in Decatur, Tennessee. We are a Christian-based primary care practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for the whole person body, mind, and soul.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in blood collection, attentive to detail, and committed to helping every patient feel comfortable and respected. This position will also support our clinical team with injections, urine specimens, and the processing of specimens collected during procedures.

Pay

$15.00 per hour

Primary responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood-collection procedures
• Confirm patient identity and accurately label specimens
• Prepare, process, package, and organize specimens for laboratory testing or pickup
• Collect, label, document, and process urine specimens
• Process specimens collected during in-office procedures and prepare them for send-out laboratory testing
• Assist the clinical team with weight-loss and testosterone injections, as permitted by the employee’s training, certification, and clinic policy
• Maintain accurate patient, injection, and specimen documentation
• Follow infection-control, safety, specimen-handling, and patient-confidentiality procedures
• Maintain clean and organized blood-draw and specimen-processing areas
• Monitor and restock phlebotomy, injection, and specimen-collection supplies
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients
• Work closely with medical assistants, providers, and other clinical team members
• Assist with other appropriate clinical duties as needed

Preferred qualifications

• Completion of a recognized phlebotomy training program
• Current phlebotomy certification preferred
• Previous venipuncture or blood-collection experience preferred
• Experience collecting and processing urine and other clinical specimens preferred
• Experience assisting with or administering injections is preferred
• Knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, packaging, and processing procedures
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Dependable attendance and professional conduct
• Ability to communicate calmly with nervous or anxious patients
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
• Ability to work respectfully within a Christian, faith-based environment

Schedule

The clinic’s regular hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional scheduled Saturday availability may be requested.
