Overview
Restoration 1 of Dulles is seeking a dependable, motivated Water Mitigation & Mold Remediation Technician to join our growing team.
You will help homeowners and businesses recover from water damage, flooding, mold, and other property losses. This is a hands-on position involving water extraction, structural drying, demolition, mold remediation, equipment setup and monitoring, and customer interaction.
Restoration or construction experience is preferred, but we will train the right candidate who has a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Respond to water-damage and emergency restoration calls.
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, dehumidification, and moisture monitoring.
- Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers, and containment.
- Remove affected drywall, flooring, insulation, and other damaged materials when necessary.
- Perform mold remediation, including containment, HEPA vacuuming, cleaning, and antimicrobial treatment.
- Use moisture meters, hand tools, power tools, and restoration equipment.
- Take job-site photos, moisture readings, and maintain accurate job documentation.
- Assist with fire and smoke-damage restoration when needed.
- Maintain clean and safe job sites and properly maintain company equipment.
- Communicate professionally with customers and other parties involved in the project.
- Safely operate company vehicles.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency losses, including occasional nights and weekends.
Qualifications
- Restoration, water mitigation, mold remediation, construction, or related experience preferred.
- IICRC WRT, ASD, and/or AMRT certification preferred but not required.
- Experience with Encircle, Xcelerate, or Xactimate is a plus.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical work and lift 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Compensation & Benefits
$24–$30 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.
