Glastron Inc., located in Vineland, NJ, is an employee-owned manufacturer specializing in small diameter custom glassware. Glastron currently has an opening for a Quality Control Inspector I.
Quality Control Inspector I
Responsibilities include:
• Inspecting and approving products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and using gauges such as calipers and micrometers.
• Rejecting and returning unacceptable products based on inspection results.
• Documenting inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing rework and waste, and inputting data into a quality database.
• Maintaining and generating spreadsheets for data collection and documentation.
• Keeping up-to-date checklists of inspection processes and company protocols.
• Identifying quality issues and recommending reprocessing or correction of low-quality products.
• Reading and understanding blueprints and technical drawings.
• Working both independently and under supervision of the QC Manager to make product quality decisions.
• Complying with all safety regulations and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate would possess a High School Diploma or GED and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong arithmetic skills, and solid computer proficiency. Prior experience in quality control or manufacturing inspection is preferred.
Work Environment:
QC Inspectors work in coordination with Production, Shipping, and Assembly teams. They may be exposed to warm temperatures in the plant during the day but are provided with a dedicated office space equipped for inspection tasks.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift objects up to 20 lbs.
• Able to sit for extended periods.
• Able to work in a warm plant environment as needed.
