The Restek Corporation is seeking an Operations Technician I to join our Liquid Chromatography Quality Control (LCQC) team. This role is critical to ensuring the performance and quality of LC (Liquid Chromatography) columns through accurate testing, data recording, and adherence to analytical procedures. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks and instruments, and a willingness to learn specialized analytical techniques.
This position involves the utilization of multiple instruments that will require significant time management capabilities as well as fine motor skills. Excellent communication skills are necessary due to the manufacturing process times and the test-fix-test nature of the work. This position will be scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm after a training period.
Key Responsibilities:
- LC Column Preparation: Prepare, install, and set up LC columns.
- Performance Testing: Operate LC instruments and custom software to evaluate column performance.
- Procedure Adherence: Thoroughly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Material Tracking: Manage and track raw materials required for testing.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and databases, including Statistical Product Control (SPC) or other quality records.
- Quality Review: Assess products against defined performance and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safe handling procedures for chemicals/equipment and adhere to company safety policies.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in team and departmental meetings.
- Additional Duties: Execute other assigned tasks as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing or sitting 8-10 hours per shift with occasional breaks.
- Perform reaching, pulling, grasping, typing, and other repetitive motions.
- Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently.
- Work in environments that may include fumes, odors, dust or gases.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; 2 years of technical/science training or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience: Manufacturing or laboratory experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic problem-solving using math/science principles; familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems preferred.

- Awareness of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements
This position will require the successful completion of a standard background check in accordance with Restek policy. Employment with Restek will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
