Duties
- Prepare and cook authentic Mexican dishes with precision, ensuring high-quality standards and presentation.
- Assist in menu planning by developing new recipes that highlight traditional flavors and modern twists.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pots, poaching tools, and food processors.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Handle food production for high-volume service, ensuring timely delivery of meals during busy hours.
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills and food handling techniques to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of Mexican specialties with attention to detail and consistency.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with Mexican cuisine, including traditional dishes such as tacos, tamales, enchiladas, and salsas.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations within the food industry or restaurant setting.
- Familiarity with dietary aide practices, menu planning, and dietary department standards is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures, food handling regulations, and hygiene standards.
- Experience with high-volume production environments requiring quick turnaround times without compromising quality.
