Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrain systems, ensuring they meet manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs and alignments to optimize handling and safety standards.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems such as lighting, sensors, and electronic controls.
- Service vehicle electrical systems, including batteries, alternators, starters, and wiring harnesses.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized automotive repair tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Follow dealership or company procedures for vehicle maintenance schedules and document all work performed accurately in service records.
Experience
- Proven dealership or automotive service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Familiarity with schematics interpretation, automotive wiring diagrams, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including powertrain, transmissions, vehicle suspension systems, and diesel engine repair.
- Skilled in using auto estimating software to assess repair needs accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to work with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
