RESRG Automotive is seeking a highly motivated Molding Process Engineer to join our team in Cullman, Alabama. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining injection molding processes that support world-class quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will play a key role in new program launches, process improvements, troubleshooting, and implementation of advanced molding technologies.
What You'll Do
Process Development & Optimization

• Develop, validate, and optimize injection molding processes to achieve safety, quality, and productivity targets.
• Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Establish process parameters and standards that ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
• Support the continuous material and process improvement program.

New Program Launches

• Support the introduction of new products, technologies, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate process development activities during program launch and startup phases.
• Lead molding trials, process validations, and production readiness activities.
• Ensure successful transfer and implementation of new technologies into production.

Technical Leadership

• Troubleshoot molding, tooling, material, automation, and quality issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Tooling, and Production teams to improve manufacturing performance.
• Support technology development related to tooling, machinery, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving cycle times, increasing OEE, and lowering operating costs.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies to improve plant performance.
• Recommend and implement process enhancements that strengthen productivity and competitiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Operations, Quality, Product Development, and Program Management teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Process Technicians and junior engineers.
• Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, and customer launch activities.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related technical field.
• 4 years of experience in injection molding process engineering or plastics manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials, tooling, and automation.
• Experience troubleshooting molding defects and process variation.
• Working knowledge of statistical problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive manufacturing experience.
• Experience supporting Tier 1 automotive customers.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
• Robotics and automation experience.
