Your Job
The Industrial Engineer will play a critical role in analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes related to the molding, painting, and assembly of automotive decorative components. This role is focused on driving continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, enhancing productivity, improving quality, and ensuring operational efficiency across all departments.
What you Will do in Your Role
- Analyze current production methods across molding, painting, and assembly to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other industrial engineering tools.
- Develop and implement process documentation, work standards, and time studies.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to streamline workflows and resolve operational issues.
- Monitor and report on KPIs related to productivity, cycle time, scrap, and downtime.
- Design and implement plant layout changes and work cell designs to support operational improvements.
- Support the introduction of new products or process changes, ensuring minimal disruption to current operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for production inefficiencies or quality issues.
- Develop training materials and support team training initiatives on new processes or CI activities.
- Participate in capital equipment evaluations and justification related to process improvements.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S)
- Data Analysis and Process Optimization experience
- Proficient in manufacturing software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
What Will Put You Ahead
- Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO standards, and automotive quality systems
- Green Belt or higher certification in Six Sigma
- Automotive or decorative part production experience
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding, painting, or assembly operations
- Familiarity with ERP systems and MES integration
- Hands on approach with a strong floor presence and team engagement skills
