Salary:   $65,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with experience)

Funding Source: U.S. Department of Education CSP Grant

 

 

 

Job Description 

The Life Coach Manager provides direct oversight, professional development, and operational leadership for a team of Life Coaches and Lead Life Coaches embedded across ResponsiveEd campuses. This role ensures consistent, high-quality delivery of life coaching, academic advising, case management, and career counseling services to high school and adult learners enrolled in work-based learning and charter school programs. The Life Coach Manager serves as the primary liaison between the coaching team and program leadership, ensuring services align with CSP grant objectives, student performance metrics, and ResponsiveEd’s mission.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Education Leadership preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in life coaching, academic advising, school counseling, or social work, with high school or adult learner populations
  • Minimum 1 years of supervisory or team lead experience in an educational or social services setting

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop a team of direct reports across multiple campus locations
  • Strong knowledge of academic advising, social-emotional support, case management, and career development frameworks
  • Ability to interpret student performance and engagement data to inform team priorities and service adjustments
  • Proficiency in data tools, student information systems, and case management platforms
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present to leadership, community partners, and grant evaluators
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and campuses simultaneously
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and experience serving diverse learner populations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

 

Responsibilities & Duties

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Directly supervise a team of Life Coaches across assigned campuses
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, team meetings, and formal performance evaluations for all direct reports
  • Identify professional development needs and coordinate training, coaching, and skill-building opportunities for the team
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of Life Coach staff in coordination with HR and program leadership
  • Provide clear performance expectations, manage performance improvement processes when necessary, and maintain documentation

Program Operations & Quality Assurance

  • Oversee the implementation of the Life Coach Model across campuses, ensuring consistency of service delivery and documentation standards
  • Review and audit case documentation, interaction logs, and academic monitoring records for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify gaps in service delivery, develop corrective action plans, and track outcomes
  • Coordinate and standardize systems and workflows for student intake, goal setting, academic monitoring, and post-graduation follow-up
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex student cases involving risk, community resource coordination, or compliance concerns
  • Pursue partnership leads and initiate steps to identify partners that are complementary to or aligned with the mission and vision of TexasWorks. Coordinate next steps with appropriate parties to advance partnership discussions with leadership and other departments in the greater organization.
  • Oversee the continued configuration and implementation of student support ecosystem software, including facilitating training and feedback loops with developers and brand leaders.
  • Conduct high-quality professional development to address campus and regional needs to support the work of Life Coaches.
  • Work with a team of specialists to conduct campus visits, identify priority schools based on data, and follow a continuous improvement cycle.

 

Equipment & Work Environment

  • Standard office equipment and virtual technology platforms
  • Travel required to multiple campus locations within Texas
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required for program events or student needs
