POSITION OVERVIEW


The Proficient Instructional Coach will serve as a key instructional leader supporting K–12 teachers across campuses. This role is responsible for delivering professional development, providing targeted coaching, revising curriculum content, and using student performance data to guide instructional strategies. The coach works closely with campus leaders and educators and is expected to travel weekly to ensure consistent instructional support.

 

  • Lead professional development sessions and workshops for educators across content areas and grade levels.
  • Create, revise, and align lesson plans and assessments to state standards.
  • Conduct instructional observations and provide actionable, evidence-based feedback.
  • Use SIBME for coaching reflection and Scholar Tracker for monitoring student progress and teacher effectiveness.
  • Mentor new teachers through structured onboarding and ongoing support.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify learning gaps and drive instructional interventions.
  • Collaborate with school leadership on school-wide instructional planning.
  • Manage ordering and implementation of instructional materials across campuses.
  • Travel weekly to provide on-site instructional coaching and support.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of teaching and/or instructional coaching experience in K–12.
  • Proficient with curriculum development, instructional strategies, and adult learning theory.
  • Skilled in analyzing academic data and translating insights into instructional action.
  • Technologically proficient with Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, SIBME, and educational data tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
    Willingness and availability to travel across regional campuses.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Writing, Revising, and Editing State-Aligned Content

  • Develop instructional materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with state standards.
  • Review and revise existing curriculum content to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Edit and refine assessments to measure student mastery effectively.
  • Collaborate with educators and curriculum teams to enhance instructional materials.

Responsibility to Support Special Populations

  • Emergent Bilingual Students: Ensure instructional strategies support language acquisition and academic success. Provide appropriate scaffolding, accommodations, and culturally responsive teaching.
  • Special Education: Collaborate with educators to implement differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications aligned with student IEPs. Support inclusive practices that foster engagement and accessibility for all learners.
  • Data-Driven Support: Use assessment data to track progress, identify learning gaps, and tailor interventions for special populations.
  • Professional Development: Provide training on best practices for supporting Emergent Bilingual and Special Education students in math instruction.

Professional Development for Educators

  • Design, develop, and facilitate professional development sessions for educators teaching grades 3-6.
  • Provide targeted training on instructional best practices, engagement strategies, and curriculum alignment.
  • Offer differentiated support to teachers based on classroom needs and student performance data.
  • Conduct workshops, webinars, and coaching sessions to ensure instructional effectiveness.
  • Assist teachers in integrating instructional technology and resources into daily lessons.

Coaching and Mentoring Educators

  • Observe classroom instruction and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
  • Model effective teaching strategies and provide hands-on coaching in classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop individualized growth plans.
  • Utilize SIBME for observation review, feedback, and coaching reflection.
  • Host weekly coaching conversations with assigned priority teachers.

Supporting New Teachers

  • Provide mentorship and structured onboarding for new educators to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Offer individualized coaching and guidance on lesson planning, student engagement, and assessment.
  • Facilitate regular check-ins and professional development tailored to the needs of new teachers.
  • Serve as a resource for instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.

Supporting Developing Leaders

  • Assist emerging leaders in developing instructional leadership skills.
  • Provide coaching on data analysis, team management, and curriculum implementation.
  • Guide developing leaders in fostering a culture of high expectations and academic excellence.
  • Support school administrators in implementing best practices for staff development and instructional oversight.

Long-Term and Short-Term Data Tracking and Collection

  • Use Cambium and Edcite to track, collect, and analyze student performance data daily.
  • Utilize Scholar Tracker to add, monitor, and report on all student historical data and performance trends.
  • Track both short-term and long-term student performance trends to inform instructional decisions.
  • Interpret assessment results to identify instructional gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed data reports to stakeholders, highlighting trends, growth, and areas requiring intervention.
  • Support educators in using data-driven insights to tailor instruction and interventions for improved student outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and reporting standards when handling student performance records.

Content-Specific Resource Ordering, Tracking, and Implementation

  • Identify and procure instructional resources aligned with state standards and curriculum needs.
  • Maintain an organized tracking system for all ordered materials.
  • Ensure educators have access to the necessary tools and resources for effective instruction.
  • Train staff on the implementation and integration of new instructional materials.

Overall Campus Support

  • Act as a point of contact for instructional support across multiple campuses.
  • Assist with school-wide instructional initiatives and academic improvement plans.
  • Provide direct support to campus leadership in implementing best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between instructional teams and district leadership.

Adherence to Employee Policies and Handbook

  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with educators, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Uphold ethical standards in coaching, training, and curriculum development.

Travel Arrangements and Commitments

  • Arrange and coordinate all travel logistics for multi-region responsibilities.
  • Commit to traveling up to 5 days per week to campuses in the Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin regions.
  • Ensure timely submission of travel expense reports and meet credit card reconciliation deadlines.
  • Adapt to flexible travel schedules based on campus needs and priorities.

Adherence to All Financial Policies and Procedures

  • Submit reconciliation reports within designated deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all guidelines related to credit card usage, travel reimbursements, and financial accountability.
  • Provide documentation and receipts as required for auditing and compliance purposes.

This position is grant-funded and contingent upon the continued availability of federal funds. Employment may be terminated if grant funding ceases or is reduced.

Salary : $68,000 - $72,000
