Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Triage DME (Durable Medical Equipment) professional to join our team. In addition to standard MA duties, this position will focus on Durable Medical Equipment (DME) coordination, including CPAP machines, oxygen, nebulizers, and related supplies. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Learn and maintain knowledge of insurance requirements for ordering DME (CPAP machines, oxygen, nebulizers, etc.).
- Use various online platforms to send DME orders (CPAP supplies, oxygen, nebulizer, etc.) to DME companies.
- Ensure oxygen orders are completed within 24 hours of request.
- Gather and prepare all necessary documentation for DME orders.
- Answer and address incoming calls from patients and DME companies; provide assistance as needed.
- Complete and send DME requests via fax daily.
- Collaborate with providers on DME equipment denials and follow up as required.
- Perform all standardMedical Assistant duties, including patient intake, vital signs, and general office support.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years Medical Office Experience is preferred
- Experience working with an EMR system
- Allscripts experience is preferred
- Familiarity with durable medical equipment types and their applications is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
