What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner position at Respiratory and Sleep Specialists, LLC?
Nurse Practitioner –Adult Intensive Care Unit
1. Provides direct and indirect patient care, in collaboration with the physicians in the Critical care unit at night (7pm-7am) at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center.
2. Independently evaluate hospitalized patients requiring critical care attention. and promote timely admissions and transfers
3. Review patient history with the patient and family, obtain and review prior records, and performs physical examination documenting significant findings.
4. Document significant findings as related to patient complaints or medical status and formalize the treatment plan.
5. Review the treatment plan with the patient/family and documents it in the patient medical record.
6. Coordinate discharge planning. Communicate discharge/transfer information to appropriate providers. Perform patient and family education as needed.
7. Responsible for maintenance of quality parameters as set forth by the CCU Medical Director and participates in daily CCU rounding. Assist in developing and following established care protocols.
8. Consult with the intensivists on an as needed basis. Discuss relevant changes in patient conditions as needed.
9. Perform routine bedside procedures in the CCU under the supervision of the intensivist.
10. Discuss patients and plan of care with healthcare providers to facilitate continuity throughout the hospital stay. Collaborate with consulting specialists, other caregivers and staff to develop means of enhancing patient care and service.
11. Support customer service and performance improvement goals of the ICU and IMCU. Support hosptial quality initiatives.
12. Maintain standards of confidentiality and privacy.
13. Maintain all applicable New Jersey State and Federal Licenses.
14. Maintain knowledge of evidence-based practice. Achieve Continuing Education Units (CEU) requirements. Keep current on standards of care and best practice recommendations.
15. Perform work accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner, and in accordance with practice and Hospital System standards. Identify problems and handles, refers them, or offers suggestions for resolution.
16. Participate in compliance as related to established standards and completes, in a timely manner, all hopsital competencies. Completes all required hospital annual competencies.
17. Other duties and projects as assigned.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $146,880.00 per year
