Immediate Supervisor: Facility Service Manager
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of all facility buildings, including residential, administrative, and recreation areas. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all staff and residents. The Custodian also assists with vehicle-related tasks, such as gathering van trip tickets, coordinating with the Facility Services Manager, and helping with fueling vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain all assigned buildings and areas (residential, administrative, and recreational).
• Restock and maintain cleaning and facility supplies, ensuring appropriate inventory levels.
• Order linen, cleaning, and maintenance supplies as needed and track usage.
• Gather and organize van trip tickets, coordinate ticket information with the Facility Services Manager.
• Assist in fueling (gassing up) facility vans and ensuring they are ready for use.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
• Dispose of waste and recyclables in accordance with facility policies.
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Support other facility operations or maintenance needs as assigned.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply shortages promptly.
• Maintain professional conduct and always uphold organizational standards.
• Support the care team by performing direct care tasks when necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Facility Service Manager to ensure quality service and compliance with facility standards.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move intermittently. Use hands to handle or feel. Ability to turn on the knees, back, wrist, shoulders, and grasp with both hands. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently.

Availability on all days of the week, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
• Basic recordkeeping and communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and safe usage procedures.
• Customer service mindset and teamwork orientation.

Certifications:

• Must be certified as an ICF/IID Aid or CNA, or willing to complete certification upon hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Professional Crisis Management certification or willing to complete certification upon hire.

Must pass background checks and have a valid driver’s license, as transportation of individuals may be required
