Responsibilities
- Transcribe detailed clinical notes during patient examinations, capturing vital signs, symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment plans with speed and accuracy
- Assist healthcare providers by documenting medical histories, physical examinations, and procedural details in real-time using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Ensure all medical documentation adheres to legal and regulatory standards, maintaining the integrity of patient records
- Support the medical team by managing incoming documentation requests and organizing medical records for easy retrieval
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately interpret provider instructions and patient information
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Utilize proficient typing skills to efficiently record detailed notes during fast-paced clinical encounters, including emergency room situations when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR platforms is essential for seamless documentation workflows
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and emergency room procedures enhances accuracy and efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to transcribe complex medical information quickly and accurately under pressure
